About all workshops (private groups)

- To finalize your booking a prepayment is required.

- Changes of the number of participants can be accepted until three days before the workshop date. For the group more than 7 persons, changes of the number of participants can be accepted until seven days before the workshop date.

- The price is 1 workshop contents for 1 group. If you want to have several workshops within 1 group, the cost and times takes more. For example a group of 2 persons, it costs 2 times of 1 person's price if they want to have different workshops.

- No admittance without appointment.

- People who ask discount too many times will be declined.

- The business is accomplished in general condition. Barter is not allowed

- The workshop reservation are issued on the first-come-first-served basis. Please book workshop date when you made a firm resolution. Some groups booked the date but asked me to wait because of under discussion. On this case, the other people who surely decide to take workshop on same day, is chosen.

About cooking workshops.

- To finalize your booking a prepayment is required. If you don't make payment by the due date (4 days before the workshop because I have to buy ingredients), your reservation is cancelled automatically unless there is a particular reason.

- Changes of the number of participants can be accepted until three days before the workshop date. For the group more than 7 people, participants can be accepted until seven days before the workshop date.

- Cancellations have to be submitted at least 4 days in advance. About the change of numbers of participants, the price can't be changed in 3 days before workshop. Because ingredients and customized schedule are prepared.

- Free cancellation of a cooking workshop is possible until 4 days before the date of the workshop.

- If you intended to pay the fee after due date but want to cancel in 3 days or less before workshop date, the following conditions apply due to preparations and the purchase of ingredients and required items for the workshop.

--Cancellation 3 days before the workshop: 30% of the total invoice price will be charged

--Cancellation 2 days before the workshop: 50% of the total invoice price will be charged

--Cancellation 1 day before or on the workshop date itself: total invoice price (100%) will be charged.

--In the event of a last-minute cancellation of a workshop, regardless of the reason, no refunds will be provided. When rescheduling, a payment ranging from 70% to 100% of the invoice amount will be required. This is because the purchased ingredients cannot be stored, and significant effort has already been invested in preparation.

- The price is 1 type of main dish for 1 group. If you want to have several types of main dishes within 1 group, the cost and times takes more. For example a group of 2 persons, it costs 2 times of 1 person's price if 1 person want to have fish and other person want to have meat. Cooking workshop is not the restaurant. This is the place to get cooking knowledge. In this case, you buy 2 knowledge. Therefore it costs 2 times of 1 person's fee.

- If you take my workshops for your business usage (for example learning some dishes for the menu in your restaurant/shop/Toko, or give workshops using my recipe), you need commissions or be declined because copy act.

- Some people ask 1 or 2 person's workshop but want to enter more than 3 persons, and try to share the foods. This act is prohibited. Please pay for the fair price of the numbers of entered persons.

This is the place to get cooking knowledge. Therefore all members in same room need to pay for their attendance fee. Because all of them gain the knowledge. Eating results means the confirmation of knowledge.

- No admittance for persons outside the normal circle of decided number of participants.

- The photo of the result is available to show online (website, blog, social media). About the recipe and photos of process, you can show them within your family or friends, but please don't upload to online (website, blog, social media).

- Please wear clothes that are suitable for cooking. Here are some examples of problems that have occurred in the past:

--Participants with excessively long nails or those who prioritize nail care over being able to cook. At the gyoza workshop, long nails can make it difficult to close the wrappers properly.

--Wearing party clothes that are not suitable for cooking.

For event organizations or companies

For event organizations or companies

- The workshop at your location is available from 10 participants.
- The minimum booking hours are a total of 2 hours.
- To finalize your booking a prepayment is required.
- Changes in the number of participants can be communicated up to 7 working days before the workshop. After that, the rate applies for the originally specified number when booking. The invoice will be based on the number of participants known at that time.

- In the event of a last-minute cancellation of a workshop, regardless of the reason, no refunds will be provided. When rescheduling, a payment ranging 100% of the invoice amount will be required. This is because significant effort has already been invested in preparation.
- Depending on the circumstances certain costs will be charged. For workshops, lectures etc. on location event organizations are asked to pay for travel expenses (2nd class public transport) and an hour fee.
- Minimum booking for the Netherlands is two hours and abroad the minimum is three hours. With a booking/reservation two hour travel time is included.
- For travel times more than two hours a compensation fee per hour extra travel time is asked. The reason is that with travel times more than two hours I can’t accept other bookings on that day.
- In case of business use/purpose of my workshops (for example, use my recipe for new dish at your restaurant, to get inspiration for your business, etc.) business charge is required. Regardless of workshop contents, crediting (my name and my website) will be required for your business contents (for example, the dish on your restaurant that you learned from my workshop). - Invitations from event organizations who are not willing to compensate the necessary costs will be refused.
- Organizations who ask discount many times or unreasonable requests will be declined.

- Minimum booking for the Netherlands is two hours, and abroad the minimum is three hours.

- Depending on the circumstances certain costs will be charged.

- With a booking/reservation two hour travel time is included.

- For travel times more than two hours, a compensation fee per hour extra travel time is asked. The reason is that with travel times more than two hours I can’t accept other bookings on that day.

- Event organizations are asked to offer event tent for open-air events. The tent should contains roofs and walls in all directions that blocks all weather (rain, wind, sunlight, etc.)

- Event organizations are asked to offer the table more than 1.5m width for drawing graphics, 1 chair for artist and 1 more chair for customers who are portrayed.

- For the event on night time, event organizations are asked to offer enough lighting. Because it's hard to see both customer's face and drawing papers with indirect lighting or candle lighting.

- The fee is fixed price regardless of the number of visitors/customers.

- The fee is for 1 event for 1 time. 1 time payment in discount price for different events on different days, is not accepted.

- Invitations from event organizations who are not willing to compensate the necessary costs will be declined.

- Event organizations who ask discount many times, or ask unreasonable requests will be declined.

For artwork or portrait requests

- To finalize your request, a prepayment is required. Working for artworks or portraits is started after the confirmation of payments.

- The price of artwork is different system from portrait. It’s decided by discussions.
- Urgent requests cost extra charge.
- The customer who asks discount too many times will be declined.
- Tokyo doll NL doesn't offer sample drawings by free. It's already possible to find drawing examples on the website or Facebook. Despite samples or not, all drawings or designs will be required in proper price.
- Creating art and design works or portrait, it is time consuming work. Tokyo Doll NL doesn’t accept projects that based on payment at piece rates. If the customer ask several artworks, payments are required for all artworks as labour & hour payment. For example, "Asking many samples and picks only one, then pays for only one", this type of request is declined. Because by converted into hourly rate equivalent, the income is mere chicken feed. The request that doesn't fulfil rightful rewards will be declined.
- Unfortunately some people misunderstand like that "Artists make money by what they like to do, so they shouldn't expect money". The artwork based on requests within customer's condition, this is already "work" and it's not hobby anymore. Despite manga or any artworks, the creator can obtain a rightful reward under workers' rights. Wish your kind understanding.
- All images are copyrighted by the owner of this website. Do not copy or edit without agreement. No reproduction or republication without written permission.

The group who choose a cooking workshop for party entertainment

-Voorkom het omstoten van drankjes op de werktafels om schade te voorkomen.

We zijn niet verantwoordelijk voor ongevallen als gevolg van het niet naleven van de regels, en we kunnen geen extra ingrediënten bereiden als het de schuld van de klant is.

-Wees voorzichtig om geen borden of glazen te breken en betaal een schadevergoeding als dat gebeurt.

-Verander alsjeblieft niet de opstelling van de kamer zonder toestemming.

-Neem onze apparatuur niet zonder toestemming mee naar huis.

EN: To tell the truth, some customers who booked cooking workshops for party entertainment caused troubles. Please follow instructions for your safety.

- Attend with Normal outfit for cooking workshop. Dressed-up people caused many troubles. For example, women with long gel nails couldn't cook normally. Women attended in a party dress or with lots of accessories, they nearly caught fire on their outfits or accessories while igniting the cooking stove.

- Pay attention to cooking instructions. The people busy for chatting and didn’t listen instruction, they failed cooking.

- Stay focused while cutting ingredients. Some customers injured because chatting while cutting ingredients.

- Do not knock over your drinks on the workshop area. Chatting people often did it, and some ingredients were damaged.

We are not responsible for any accidents due to non-compliance. And we can't prepare extra ingredients caused by customer's fault.

- Be careful not to get too excited & drunk and accidentally break dishes or glasses. If our property is damaged by customer's foult, customer have to pay compensation.

- Do not change the layout of the room without permission. The room has been arranged for the smooth operation of the workshop.

- Do not take our equipment home without permission. Unauthorized removal of our equipment will be reported as theft.

- Remember that the Japanese cooking workshop is for learning about Japanese culture through cooking, not an all-you-can-eat-Wok restaurant. Complaints about limited food options are invalid.

- There were some groups who requested workshops in extremely low prices. Understand that the cost of the workshop includes intellectual property and labor costs, not just ingredients.

In addition, due to rising prices by economic crisis, we are struggling to maintain affordable prices for our workshops. We appreciate your understanding and support.

Basically Cooking workshop doesn't fit to the group who want entertainment than learning. If your group is difficult to follow standard rules, we recommend you reserving our restaurant with safety activities such as manga workshops, origami, and Japanese lessons.

The following are answers to frequent questions.

Q. Where is the workshop location?

A. The workshop location is about a 10-minute walk from Utrecht Central Station, the Netherlands. Google Map. If you come by car keep in mind that there is paid-parking in the neighborhood. A group of more than 10 participants will be "workshop on location".

Q: What is the payment policy for reservations?

A: Customers are required to make a payment in advance, at least four days before the reservation date.

Q: What happens if payment is not made by the deadline?

Q. Can I request your workshop for a gift for my friends/family?

Q: We are a couple. I want to choose meat, and my partner wants to choose fish. How much does it cost?

A. If you want to book 2 different dishes at once, extra cost will be required. For example, there is a group of 2 people. 1 person wants to fish but another person wants meat. This case is recognized as twice of 1 person's workshop. Because the extra time and labor are consumed to teach extra dishes. Following the price estimate of 2 persons.

-- Meat 2 persons: 133.10 euros incl. tax

-- 1 person fish and 1 person meat:157.3 euros incl. tax

-- For more than 4 persons who want to take different dishes, extra charges are required for time & labor-consuming reasons as well. Price estimate changes depending on contents.

Q. Can I take 2 workshops on the same day?

A. Depending on the contents of workshops. Basically taking 2 more cooking workshops in a day is not recommended. Because taking time, and it will be too much food quantities like a food fighting TV program. If we eat too much, we can not find the taste of each dish. This situation doesn't make sense as an authentic cooking workshop. The workshop is the place to get information due to cook authentic dishes by yourself. Eating is the confirmation of the result. Therefore It is better to visit on different days. However, if you come from very far from Utrecht and hard to visit again (for example, from Germany or Belgium or tourists from out of the Netherlands), it's negotiable to take 2 workshops in a day.

Q. Why can't you offer many kinds of dishes in small quantities each?

A. Most ingredients are not sold in small quantities. If I have to buy many ingredients to make many dishes, the costs become huge. Especially cost management is difficult under current inflation all over the world. Therefore we need to keep it in social quantities, and therefore the extra cost will be required for extra dishes.

Q: I want to do a Ramen workshop and Gyoza workshop at once like ordering dishes in the restaurant.

A: The workshop is different from eating at a restaurant. Each dish needs time to explain and cook, and it consumes time. At my workshop, you make noodles and gyoza skins by yourself. Especially making & wrap gyoza skins needs dexterity, and most beginners took 2 hours more or less only by gyoza workshop. Therefore If you want to request both ramen and gyoza workshops, please take them on different days each.

Q. I want to take ramen home. Is it possible?

A. Taking away ramen is not recommended. The soup noodles including ramen have gone soggy if they've been in the soup too long. Soggy noodles are almost the same as the bread soaked in the water because both are made from flour. You may saw images that Asians slurping soup noodles. Because they eat soup noodles quickly before the noodles are soggy. Soup noodles including ramen are not a dish to take time to eat with enjoying conversation like in French cuisine. Let's have the noodles before they get soggy.

Q. I want to upload all processes and photos of the workshop on my blog or social networks.

A. The photo of the workshop result is available to show online (website, blog, social media). About the recipe and photos of detailed process, you can show them to your family or friends, but please don't upload to online (website, blog, social media). If you want to upload recipes or photos of the process, a copyright and an advertisement fee are required as an official business.

Q. I have my restaurant. I want to take your workshop due to add new menu of my restaurant.

A. My workshop is given at a reasonable price for common customers, and taking my workshop for commercial use is not welcome. If you take my workshops for your business usage (for example. learning some dishes for the menu in your restaurant/shop/Toko or events), higher commissions are required because you buy intellectual property. And you need to advertise my website/social networks on your website and/or menu card of your restaurant. If you don't want to mention my information, you will need extra commissions for royalty.

Q. I want to take your workshop. Then I want to give a workshop with your recipe to another customer as my business.
